Welcome

Welcome to all who visit the Halifax Branch of the Royal Naval Association

Halifax Branch of the Royal Naval Association was first formed some 25 years ago by Mr and Mrs Hughie O'Connor both retired RN personnel. The first few years we were homed at the Halifax rugby league social club. Some ten years ago we moved to our present location, the Ukrainian Club. Queens Rd.

A number of our lady members are ex WRENs

We have a strong detachment of ex Royal Marines one of whom served with the famous cockleshells later to become the SBS. Another serving in the commando unit.

Our aim is to further comradeship between like minded people.

All serving, ex RN ex Merchant seamen or ex Royal Marines are eligible to become members and any family with a serving member of the above may become honorary members.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month at the Ukrainian Club. Queens Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire

Within our unit we have many books on the history of the Royal Navy.

Should any one need a book please drop us an e-mail with the title required and we will forward it to you if wehave it in our library, if we do not have it we can commence a search on your behalf, there will be a small charge to cover postage etc.
